Prologue to "Bloodlines"

It has been said that 'blood will tell'.  So often you will see a common trait or characteristic from one generation to another.  A common thread that holds them together, or a common weakness that causes the downfall of yet another generation. It seems extraordinary that a descendent from a long ago ancestor bears a striking image.  Or, perhaps the same zest for life and strong will goes from one generation to another.  A person who has never even met his ancestor can mimic his same strengths and shortcomings.  Often a young man or woman's weak areas can be searched back to an ancestor who also had similar weakness.  I am talking about a curse of an entire generation.  Yet this is not new.  We read in the old testament how generations of families have lived under some of the same weaknessess.  Adultery, drunks, thieves, liars and murderers, nothing is new under the sun.
Yet God has given us the tools or weapons of warfare to stop  a generational curse.  You will find the answers in the word of God.  For starters, 2 Corinthians 10:3-4
"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."
We must learn how to use these weapons.  Our descendents depend upon it.
