Weezy's Tidbits for Today's Woman

Lesson 1

Have you ever wondered why God made you a woman?   You seem to have the clear  insight into things that some men do not.  You may have the physique of a tall strong person, yet feel you are out of place.  Perhaps you are tired of being a small woman or a woman who is not quite what she feels she should be.

Relax, and remember you did not create yourself.  There is a perfect place for you to be just as you are.  Since God created you, He knows your stature, your talents, your giftings and your many moods.  The bible says in Jeremiah 1:5  ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…He knew you before you were even born! You did not come by those long legs or short legs because of something you had to endure for some strange reason.  God decided that He liked your frame, your giftings and your talents.

Yet, for too long we have looked in the mirror and decided we were a less than.  People have helped encourage this by trying to ‘fix’ us.  We see ads on television that is always encouraging us to be thinner, put special clothes on, wear jewelry, work on our muscles, get more educated, and punctuated.  Yet, no matter what you do, you will find that you will never walk well in a garment that is not your own. In I Samual 17 :38 ‘Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic.  He put a coat of armor on him and bronze helmet on his head.  David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.  ‘I cannot go in these,’ he said to Saul.  ‘Because I am not used to them.’ So he took them off.’ King Saul tried to give his armament to David and it was a poor fit.

Yet, how do we become comfortable with who we are?  What is the secret?  We first need to look at the one who died on the cross because He felt  we were worth it.  He loved us before we came into being.  He knew our life from start to finish and He still died for us.  The word of God is a love story about His love for us.  It points us in the direction of the one we should pattern ourselves after.

We can develop our outer bodies to be in sync with what the world tells us, while still being a poor fit with our inner self.  Beauty comes from the inside out.  Who we are is not what we see in the mirror.  As women, we need to remind ourselves that it is a privilege to be a woman.

We were created because God said it was not good for man to be alone.  Genesis 2:18 ‘The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for man to be alone.  I will make a helper suitable for him.’  He created woman to fill in that gap.  Whether we are married or not, we are here in a special capacity to be a special part of this world that a man alone cannot fill.  That does not mean we are here to fix a man though.  That is God’s job.  Our job is to obey His commands regarding our body, our heart, and our soul.  We have a destiny that can only be fulfilled if we are in the right place with God.

Are we abusing our body with what goes in to it?  Are we abusing our minds with the treasure of this world rather than God’s word?  Are we wasting our time on earth on selfish pleasure and forgetting what He commanded us to do?  In other words, if we are in the will of God we will walk in the garment that He created us to walk in.

Some of us women are born leaders in finance, government, car repair and many other places.  Some of us are born to crochet and tend children.  Yet, we were all born to be a gentle reminder to the world that a woman is a precious gift of God.

So often I hear women talk about some other woman and wish they were like her.  Yet, we can be comfortable in knowing that to God…we are so unique that after us, He broke the mold!
