Recently, I heard a true story of a Muslim woman who went to the local market. She stood in front of the deli section alone. Several older women came to stand nearby and began to openly share rude remarks to her regarding her faith. The comments became crude. This went on for several minutes. The Muslim woman said nothing. She was obviously irritated, but did not respond.
What those women did is not Godly! In fact, this is a show of our fear and hatred towards people. The bible tells us that we do not fight against flesh and blood but spirits and principalities. To verbally attack someone while others are doing likewise is not God’s way. In fact, this shows that those older women did not know the gospel very well.
Ephesians 6:12 tells us ‘For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.’ This means that we as Christians need to pray for the Muslims. We take this seriously. If we believe that Jesus is real, then we fight for peace….. on our knees!!! We want to aim our spiritual arrows at demonic forces and not women in supermarkets.

I realize this might sound quite unpatriotic. Not so. I love this country and thank God each day that I was born here. There are times when we must defend our country and I am proud of our men in uniform. I pray that God goes with them and protects them. I have read in the bible how the Lord went with Israel through many battles.
But, here in my own town I know that we too have a part to play. Through our lives, we show God’s ways. On our knees, we fight on His side.
His ways are higher than ours. We might be able to force someone to change their mind, but never their heart. Only the Holy Spirit can change a heart. Our part is to pray and live a life that shows Christ through us.
Always remember what it says in Ezekiel 33:11
Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?'
In Ezekiel 18:32 it also says..’ For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!
We are not called on to be consumed with fear and hate. We are not called on to abuse anyone. We are called on to speak the truth in love. Now more than ever we need to pray for the softening of hearts to receive God’s word. Let’s be bold in the right way
As always, pray for Israel!
