How Big is Your God?

As I was on the treadmill this morning and spending time with the Lord, I felt the Lord reach deep inside and pull out some of the hidden thoughts that spring to life on occasion. “I just want you to know that I am bigger than your greatest fear.” I mean it; I heard a quiet thought go through me as I was walking 2.5 mph on my way to two miles.

What are your greatest fears? Loss of income? Physical disability? No friends? Failure of some kind? Loss of a loved one? What is going to happen to you? Life can be overwhelming at times. God is bigger than your greatest fear. In fact if we see that fear in proportion to who God is, it would be the elephant and the ant all over again. Over and over in the bible we are told to ‘Fear not” Do you ever wonder why that is repeated so often? I have heard that it is written 365 times in the bible. That is once for every day. We need to remember it every day.

Our poor choices in life often lead to some bad consequence even though we have asked forgiveness. Still, when we are trusting God to walk it through with us; we know that God is bigger than our situation. He will make a way where there is no way.

My thought as I type this is this…make it a point right now to stand up and believe that God truly is bigger than anything you hide deep in your heart that you are fearful of. For God did not give us a spirit of fear. In the word of god 2 Timothy 1:7 it says “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”

Don’t wait until you are face to face with a mountain. Plant your feet on this truth today. “My God is bigger than any fear that comes to mind.” I’m not saying that bad things won’t come your way. I’m sure you will walk through trials as Jesus said we would. What I am saying is that through Jesus, we can be assured of our victory. Change will come. Our ideas might be changed. Our lives might be changed. But, if our eyes are on Jesus, who never changes; we will be all right. How big is your God?
